When TValue calculates, it computes values for any fields that contain the entry Unknown. If no fields are designated as Unknown when Calculate is performed, TValue will determine if any balance remains unaccounted for.
The fields that can be designated as Unknown include interest rates, Amount, and Number. To enter an unknown, type [U] at one of these fields. Only one field can be designated as Unknown at a time. You can, however, designate more than one Unknown Amount field if they are for the same Event. For example, you can designate multiple payment amounts as unknown in the same schedule. You cannot however, designate both a Payment Amount and the Number of payments as Unknown.
To calculate an Unknown
- Enter the information for the problem you are working on. Declare any unknown values as Unknown by typing [U] in the unknown field(s).
- Press [F9], [Ctrl]+[U], or click the Calculate button in the ribbon's Compute group.
