When you finish working on a schedule, you can save it to disk. If you are working on a note that contains numerous cash flow lines, it is a good idea to save periodically.
The Save command on the File tab's menu or clicking the Save button from the Quick Access Toolbar saves the active schedule under the current file name by replacing the previous version on the disk. After you save a schedule using the Save button from the Quick Access Toolbar, it remains on your screen so you can continue to work on it. Otherwise, click on the Home tab to get back to the active schedule.
The Save As command saves the schedule you are working on. For new schedules, it functions the same as the Save command. For previously saved schedules, Save As will allow you to save the file with a new name without disturbing the original. Use the Save As command to save any changes you've made without replacing the original.
A TValue amortization schedule can be saved as a text file or even exported directly to Microsoft Excel or Microsoft Word. This makes it easy to transfer amortization schedule or report data to spreadsheet or word processing applications. For information about saving a schedule so it can be opened by TValue version 5, see Saving a TValue 6 schedule in TValue 5 format.

- Click the Save button on the Quick Access Toolbar, or from the File tab's menu choose Save or Save As.
When first saving a schedule, Save and Save As operate the same. TValue will display the Save As dialog.
